Te Whare Nukunoa Christmas Party
Recently we held a big event for our tenants, our staff and some of the board members of Te Whare Nukunoa.
This event was named 'Me, Myself and I' by Hiria, our General Manager – With the mission to celebrate the present and past tenants of Te Whare Nukunoa.
The purpose of 'Me, Myself and I' was to acknowledge the journeys that many of the women who have come through our doors are on and to celebrate the progress that all have made in their lives.
Some of the tenants showcased artworks they've been creating, we enjoyed singing our hearts out to a few karaoke classics! And some of our wahine stood and shared writings of their harrowing but inspiring journeys with poems and short stories.
We all shared beautiful kai that was provided by the Compassion Soup Kitchen Te Kīhini Hupa o Pūaroha and enjoyed specialty dishes by our own staff.
It was a special event for us all to reflect and connect with the many stories and experiences that sit within Te Whare Nukunoa, from board members, staff and tenants.
What a wonderful day and thanks to everyone who made it happen!
