International Women's Day 2023

International Women's Day

Today is International Women's Day and we would love to recognise the amazing women who donate their time to lift up others in need and fight fiercely for equal opportunity, justice, health and safety for women – Your efforts do not go unnoticed!

We celebrate the strength and resilience of our women, but we also honour the uniquely difficult challenges our homeless women face on a daily basis. We know that homelessness disproportionately affects women in Aotearoa New Zealand, accounting for 50.5% of those who are severely housing deprived. We are committed to working together to find solutions that ensure every woman has a safe place they can call home.

We also want to remind all the women in our community that they are valued, loved, and worthy of being treated with respect. We see your strength and your courage, and we are here to support you in any way we can.

Let's continue to work together to uplift and empower one another, and to advocate for the rights and dignity of ALL women. Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with homeless women everywhere.

He taonga rongonui te aroha ki te tangata – 'Goodwill towards others is a precious treasure'.

Happy International Women's Day!
